This Paris inspired cake features a girly background and Eiffel Tower with elegant pearls on top. The cake was made for a get together of girlfriends going on a girls only trip to Paris. The instruction was something Paris related and girly, hopefully I hit the nail on the head?? The cake was a White Almond Flavored Cake with our most popular Black Raspberry Filling, and Buttercream Icing, topped with Marshmallow Fondant!
This weekend we made a Two Tier Princess Pillow Cake with a Gumpaste Tiara on Top and lots of beautiful flowers all over the cake. The colors were different shades of Pink and Green. Our Favorite Princess Cake by Far. We made the bottom Princess Pillow Cake out of a square Red Velvet Cake and carved into it to make it look more like a real pillow. We then iced and covered it with Marshmallow Fondant, decorating it with and Argyle Pattern and Silver Dragees. The top Pillow was a Black and White Cake the top layer Vanilla and the bottom Chocolate. It was also iced and covered in Marshmallow Fondant. Deocorated with a simpler band going around the cake. The Marshmallow Fondant Flowers were hand rolled and placed all over the cake for the extra girly touch. We had a lot of fun making this cake and were so excited to be challenged with something that ended up looking so beautiful. If you are interested in a Princess Pillow Cake for your childs next Birthday we would love to make another. Feel free to contact us or stop by the bakery located at 1413 North George Street in York, PA to order.
We introduced Brownies today at the Bakery. We had so many requests for the brownies and we were so happy to finally get them into the case today! We topped some with a Chocolate Hazelnut and Bittersweet Chocolate! We also featured some of our Original Brownies with a Whipped Chocolate Ganache and Bittersweet Chocolate! Pretty Close to a Death By Chocolate.
On top of the excitment from putting out the Brownies today I received an intersting call from someone who works at Food Network. It isn’t everyday someone from a network, let alone Food Network, calls you to ask if you are going to apply to there new show, Cupcake Wars!!! You can imagine my excitement
Thousands of applications are submitted daily and I received a personal phone call!?!? SO Many Questions but so little time. I only have three days to make the video and submit the application to Cameron. Oh yes, Cameron is the nice Gentleman that found me on the internet and called me from Food Network (He works there) LOL! At this point I feel like screaming because this is an amazing opportunity for my sister and I and the Bakery!
For now I am crossing my fingers in hopes that I can meet there deadline and the deadline of my 6 Custom Cake orders that need to all be filled. Some Thursday, a couple Friday, and then a delivery and pickup on Saturday, all while stocking the cases for our storefront traffic! How do I work under pressure………I have to laugh……or else I couldn’t do it
Stay tuned for what will hopefully be more and exciting news!!!!!!
This sweet 16 cake was made to coordinate with another Birthday Cake for two girls turning 16 together. The first cake is a purple cake and the second cake is a blue cake. the cakes have the same color scheme only we switched it up a bit so they weren’t exactly the same. The picture below shows the variations in the cake really well. We used pink and purple butterflies on the blue cake, and blue with dark blue butterflies on the purple cake. The tiers are each a different height with one bottom tier smaller and the other top tier bigger than the other one. The colors are slightly different as well. We had a lot of fun doing these cakes and heard that everyone enjoyed them just as much!

This Monkey Ballerina Picture was sent through e-mail to me so that I could create a custom Monkey Cake Topper for a little girls 2nd Birthday Party in York, PA! The Cake topper turned out to be pretty close! Here is the cake with the custom topper!
This Custom cake was another invitation sent to me as a guideline for a little boys 1st Birthday Party! The invitations were for a Vintage Circue themed Cake! The Elephant was on the littlest part of the invite, a border really, that was decorated.
The Red Velvet Cupcakes were inspired by the vintage red invite and the ivory colored cream cheese icing went with the off white vintage look for the party!

Little Dog for a little boys birthday! This cute puppy stuffed animal has been around since he was little baby!! What a great Custom Cake idea!
This little Dog ”is Cole’s Favorite Stuffed Animal” his mother told me! So when I was asked to make a Custom Cake for his birthday I thought this would be perfect! She sent me a picture of a Fire Truck, and Scooby Doo, but “Little Dog” was the perfect option! How unforgettable will this cake be, even when he is 30 this cake will be talked about!

This cake was made with the Disney Cars theme in mind. We made the sides of the cake look like a scene from the movie and Korbin’s mother provided the Lightning McQueen and Mater cars for on top. The cake was a yellow cake with buttercream icing. The decorations were all made out of marshmallow fondant. We actually marbled the blue fondant with white making it look like clouds whisping through the sky. This was a first for us and it was really fun! I think we will be marblizing fondant a little more when appropriate
We made a Jungle themed Birthday Cake for a 1st Birthday Party today. The two tier birthday cake was chocolate and yellow cake with buttercream icing. The cupcakes were a mixture of yellow and chocolate cake with Buttercream icing as well. The grass detailing going around the cake was made with Buttercream icing using a special tip. I think it looks very Jungle like with all the different lengths. The animals hiding behind bushes is the look we were going for with each tier. We wanted to create the feel of all the animals sort of peeking out of the bushes like a curious one year old would do!
The zebra print on the cupcakes with the letters B E N was a last minute detail we thought of. His mother pretty much left the whole design up to us and we hope we hit her vision dead on!
